9 DAYS COLONIAL QUITO & ANDES ADVENTURE (25QAND9)

This 9-day program is designed for guests who would like to experience the majestic Andes with its snow-capped mountains and condors. With this program, you will also get to know the local indigenous culture, which has its roots in the Incas. There are some sporty activities like hiking and biking but you will have the comfort at night where you will stay in Haciendas or at a comfortable hotel in Quito.

DAY 1 (-):
QUITO ARRIVAL
After your flight to Quito, you will be picked up by one of our drivers who will bring you safely to your hotel.

DAY 2 (B, L):
COLONIAL HISTORICAL CENTRE OF QUITO – EQUATOR
After breakfast, you will discover the beauty of the colonial historical center of Quito. Lunch will be eaten at a typical local ‘”almuerzo” place and in the afternoon you will visit the Equator and its Inti-Nan Museum.

DAY 3 (B, L):
COTOPAXI NATIONAL PARK
Early in the morning, your Andes Adventure will start! After your large breakfast, you’ll go on a biking tour in the beautiful Cotopaxi National Park. This is a shared tour, so there will be other guests, too. If you would like to do the tour privately it will cost 100 USD pp extra.

DAY 4 (B, L):
QUILOTOA
Today, you will visit the Quilotoa Crater lake. This beautiful lagoon is formed by an eruption about 800 years ago. You will go on a hike down to the crater lake where you can explore the shore and then, you will hike up again. You can also rent a donkey who will bring you up again. The whole hike will take about 3 hours. In this area, there are still a lot of indigenous people with their beautiful clothes and culture. This is a shared tour, so there will there be other guests, too. You can also choose the private option for 100 USD pp extra.

DAY 5 (B, L):
COTACACHI – OTAVALO – PEGUCHE WATER
Your first activity of the day will be heading to a Hacienda in the north of the country close to Cotacachi. You will also stop at a viewpoint of Lago San Pablo and visit the market of Otavalo, where you can buy the most beautiful local handicrafts. After a typical local 2 course lunch, the driver will take you to the Peguche waterfall and drop you off in the lodge.

DAY 6 (B):
FREE DAY
Today, you’ll have a free day to relax a little bit or you’ll take the chance to explore the unique surrounding by yourself. For example, you can do an unguided hiking tour to Cotacachi, Cuicocha Crater, or you’ll go again to Otavalo.

DAY 7 (B):
MOJANDA LAGOON – QUITO
After having breakfast, you’ll visit Mojanda lagoon and enjoy the beautiful landscape, doing a small hike before you’ll finally go back to Quito.

DAY 8 (B):
FREE DAY IN QUITO
On this day, you have a day off to explore the city by yourself, go shopping or relax. Additionally, you can take an optional day trip, like Mindo, PapallactaBaños or you can do horse back riding.

DAY 9 (B):
TRANSFER TO QUITO AIRPORT
After your last breakfast in the hotel, you will be brought to the airport to take your flight back home.
