9 DAY COLONIAL QUITO & AMAZON CUYABENO ECO LODGE
This program is perfect if you are coming to Ecuador only for a week and if you are interested in the deep Amazon and the Andes. The lodge of this program is located in the Cuyabeno National Park, exactly on the lower part of the Aguarico River. The cabins are built in the traditional Indian style of the jungle.

|1||After your flight to Quito you will be picked up by one of our drivers and he’ll take you safely to your hotel in Quito.||Tourist class hotel in Quito|
|2||After breakfast you will discover the beauty of the colonial historical centre of Quito. Lunch will be served at a local “almuerzo” place and in the afternoon you will visit the Equator and it’s Inti-Nan Museum. In the evening you will take a night bus to Lago Agrio. With the bus from Quito to Lago Agrio will take you approximately 6 hours.||Tourist class hotel in Quito, breakfast and lunch included.|
|3||The first part of the travel is a car ride of 2 hours to Tierras Orientales, where the canoe journey down the Aguarico starts and continue along the Cuyabeno black water river, to arrive to the lodge is approx. 3 hours). After dinner the naturalist bilingual guide gives you a captivating lecture and then you can take a night walk into the forest.||Jungle lodge; breakfast, lunch and dinner included.|
|4||Early morning you go on a canoe excursion. The brisk morning hours are the best time to see the rainforest thriving activity. After breakfast, you trek into primary rainforest with our naturalist and native guides who will explain you about the practical and medicinal uses of the plants. After lunch you go out with either paddling or motorized canoes to enjoy the beautiful landscapes and to try to find species of monkeys and dolphins. After dinner you venture in the forest to find species of insect sand and with a bit of luck species of snakes or frogs.||Jungle lodge; breakfast, lunch and dinner included.|
|5||Starting early in the morning you spend the whole day exploring. Return to the lodge. After breakfast you trek into pristine primary rainforest. Our native guide shares his wealth of knowledge, showing you the medicinal and practical uses of the rainforest’s flora and fauna that their ancestors have taught throughout generations and you will learn how all life in the tropical rainforest co-exists in a fragile balance. Then you return for lunch. In the afternoon, you navigate along the Cuyabeno River where you have a good chance of seeing the freshwater pink and grey river dolphins (Inia geoffrensis and Sotalia fluviatilis) in the spectacular scenery. After dinner, you venture out on a night excursion to search for caimans (alligator family) and nocturnal birds.||Jungle lodge; breakfast, lunch and dinner included.|
|6||After breakfast, you navigate along Cuyabeno rivers towards to the Kichwa Indian Community, where our naturalist guide explains the culture and traditions of the native people, from the past to the present, and then you travel by canoe down the Cuyabeno River and back along the Aguarico River to Pto. Gregorio, from where the car will take you to Lago Agrio. From there you take a bus back to Quito.||Tourist class hotel in Quito, Breakfast included|
