A trip through mainland Ecuador Highlights is pretty impressive. The country has four drastically different regions, the Andes mountains, the Amazon jungle and the Pacific coast and of course the Galapagos Islands. Each region has its own unique fauna and flora, climate and culture. The highlights of Ecuador trips let you visit two or more regions and take you to their most beautiful places.  Via this link, you can find all the Andes Mountain Tours that Rebecca Adventure Travel offers.

Sea Turtle. Galapagos Island Hopping

Sea Turtle

During this 8-day luxury tour through Ecuador, you will visit Quito, explore the Andean mountains and the Galapagos Islands. Your trip starts in Quito which offers you diverse and rich activities. From a marvelous visit through the beautiful churches and museums to a panoramic lookout called La Virgen del Panecillo. Next, your trip will bring you to the Andean mountains of Ecuador. You will visit one of the most beautiful lagoons in Ecuador and South America, the amazing Laguna Quilotoa, together with its surrounding villages. Here you will hike down to the lagoon and up again. Also, this is a wonderful opportunity to see the beauty of Ecuador in all of its forms, because of the special attention that will be paid to the culture and rural life of indigenous Andean people. Alongside, you will visit Hacienda Zuleta which is a colonial working farm in the Northern Andes of Ecuador. After your trip to the mainland of Ecuador, you will fly to the Galapagos Islands to your designated luxury cruise. The Galapagos Islands are a unique destination with flora and fauna that you won’t find anywhere else in the world. The surrounding marine reserve has been called a unique “living museum and showcase of evolution”. The Galapagos are a ‘melting pot’ of marine species.

It is located on the natural path tortoises take every year as they either migrate to higher moist locations during the garúa season (June-September), or when they descend to the warmer lowlands during the wet season. The Galapagos giant tortoise (Chelonoidis nigra) is the largest living tortoise species, weighing up to 250 kg (550 lb). It plays an important biological role as the top grazer in its habitat.
