This 14-day program is designed for guests who would like to experience the majestic Andes with its snow-capped mountains and concurs. With this program, you will also get to know the local indigenous culture, which has its roots in the Incas. There are some sporty activities like hiking and biking but you will have the comfort at night where you will stay in haciendas or other comfortable hotels. Afterwards, you will visit the beautiful Amazon forest in combination with the relaxing coast of Ecuador and the Pacific Ocean. You will see all the highlights of Ecuador!

DAY 1:
When you’ll arrive at Quito airport, you will have a transfer with an English speaking driver to your hotel in Quito.

DAY 2 (B, L):
Today, your Ecuador complete tour will start! In the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel to start your Quito city tour. At first, you will go to the Panecillo Hill with its famous Virgin Mary statue. You will have an amazing view over the whole city. Then, you will visit all the highlights, like the Basilica church, the beautiful main squares, and the San Francisco church. After lunch, which will be a typical Ecuadorian lunch, you will go to the Mitad del Mundo and the Intiñan museum. Here you can do experiments to prove the effects the equator has on gravity. Before going back to Quito, you’ll also visit the Pululahua crater. At 23:00 PM you’ll take the semi-private bus to Lago Agrio which takes about 7 hours.

DAY 3 (B, L, D):
Now, your Amazon adventure will start! From Lago Agrio, you will travel by bus/truck to Tierras Orientales (2 hours), where you will start your canoe journey down the Aguarico and continue along the Cuyabeno black water river to your lodge (3 hours approximately). After dinner, your naturalist bilingual guide will give you a captivating lecture.

DAY 4 (B, L, D):
Early in the morning, you will go on a canoe excursion because during the brisk morning hours you’ll have the best time to see the rainforest’s thriving activity. After a large breakfast, you will trek in the primary rainforest with the naturalist and native guides, who will explain you more about the practical and medicinal uses of the plants. After having lunch, you will go out with either paddling or motorized canoes to enjoy the beautiful landscapes and will try to spot several species of monkeys and dolphins. After your dinner, you will venture into the forest to find species of insects and, with a bit of luck, different kind of snakes or frogs.

DAY 5 (B, L, D):
An early activity will allow you to enjoy the nature with a good chance to watch some playful monkeys and colorful birds. Then, you will return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, you will explore the forest a little bit more. The native guide shares his wealth of knowledge, showing the medicinal and practical uses of the rainforest’s flora and fauna. After your lunch, you will navigate along the Cuyabeno River where you will have a good chance of seeing the freshwater pink and grey river dolphins (Inia geoffrensis and Sotalia fluviatilis) in a spectacular scenery. After that, you will visit the Kichwa Birdwatching Tower; here above the canopy you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding rainforest and you can observe a variety of species. These include toucans, parrots, monkeys and many more! In the evening you’ll have dinner and then, you will venture out on a night excursion to search for caimans (alligator family) and nocturnal birds.

DAY 6 (B, L):
After breakfast, you will navigate once again along the Cuyabeno river towards the Kichwa Indian Community, where your naturalist guide will explain interesting facts culture and traditions of the native people, from the past to the present. Besides, you will travel by canoe down the river and back along the Aguarico River to Puerto Gregorio. Here, the bus will take you to Lago Agrio where you’ll arrive at 16:00 PM approximately. Back in Quito, you can walk back to your hotel and relax the rest of the day.

DAY 7 (B, L, D):
On this day, a guide will pick you up to go to the Condor Park. Here you will learn a lot about the birds and you will enjoy a bird show. After that, you will go to the Otavalo market, where you can walk through the market, enjoy the people and typical Ecuadorian products that they sell. After this activity, you will be dropped off at the San Clemente local community in Ibarra where you’ll stay with a local family.

DAY 8 (B, L, D):
The whole day is about experiencing the life of the locals. You will help your family cooking and experience how it is to work on the land. Besides, you’ll listen to their music and get to know the culture a little bit better. Also, you will learn the medical use of the plants.

DAY 9 (B, L):
After breakfast, you will go by private transport to Mindo. In the forest with 1400 m altitude, you can go hiking across the waterfalls, zip-lining, canoeing, biking, going to the butterfly and flower farm or to the famous chocolate factory. After enjoying a local lunch you can continue with the activities you would like to do.

DAY 10 (B):
Today, you’ll have another day in Mindo to do other optional activities you couldn’t do the day before. In the afternoon, you will drive to the coast which will take about 8 hours.

DAY 11 (B):
Now, you’ll have a free day to relax a little or to explore Montañita by yourself.

DAY 12 (B, L):
From Montañita you’ll go by bus or van to Puerto Lopez (about 45 minutes), from there you’ll go by boat for about 1,5 hours to Isla de la Plata. During the summer months (June – August) you’ll have the chance to see humpback whales. Upon arrival on Isla de Plata, you will do a hike to get to know the different birds on Isla de la Plata. After the hike, you’ll get a lunch box on board and you can prepare yourself for optional snorkeling. You’ll be back in Puerto Lopez at approximately 17:00 PM.

DAY 13 (B):
Today, you’ll have another free day to relax on the beach and enjoy the nice atmosphere of Montañita.

DAY 14 (B):
Today, you will have a transfer back to Guayaquil airport to take your flight back.
