DAY 1:
After your flight to Quito, you’ll be picked up by a private transfer to take you to your hotel in Quito.
Accommodation in Casa Aliso or similar (*Luxe upgrade possible).

DAY 2 (B, L, D):
After your breakfast, you will discover the beauty of the colonial historical center of Quito. Lunch will be served at a local “almuerzo” place in La Mariscal and in the afternoon you will visit the Equator and the Inti-Nan Museum. After the museum, you will have the opportunity to visit the Pululahua crater. At the end of the day, you can explore Quito by yourself and have some resting time.

DAY 3 (B, L):
Today, an English speaking guide will pick you up at your hotel to go to the Condor Park. At the Condor Park you will learn more about the Condors and, additionally, you can enjoy a bird show. Hereafter, you will be visiting the indigenous market in Otavalo where you are able to walk around and see all the typical Ecuadorian products. Furthermore, you will go to the Peguche waterfall. Here, you can enjoy the rainforest while you are walking to the waterfall. At night, you’ll take a private bus transportation to Lago Agrio.

DAY 4 (L, D):
From Lago Agrio you will have a 2-hour drive to Tierras Orientales, where your Amazon adventure will start. At Tierras Orientales, you will canoe along the Aguarico and continue along the Cuyabeno black water river which will take approximately 3 hours. After having dinner, your guide with a lot of ecological knowledge will give a captivating lecture.

DAY 5 (B, L, D):
The first activity of the day will be a canoe excursion because the brisk morning hours are the best time to see the rainforest thriving activity. After having breakfast, you’ll trek into the primary rainforest with your naturalist and native guide who will explain you more about the practical and medicinal uses of the plants. After lunch, you will go out with motorized canoes to enjoy the beautiful landscapes and will try to spot different species of monkeys and dolphins. After dinner, you’ll venture into the forest to find species of insect and with a bit of luck, you will also spot some different species of snakes or frogs.

DAY 6 (B, L, D):
Today you will also start early in the morning and spend the whole day exploring. You will go downstream to observe the enchanting salt lick (exposed clay bank) where colorful parrots and parakeets feed on the clay to draw the toxins from their bodies. Hereafter, you will return to the lodge for breakfast. After a strengthening breakfast, you will trek into the pristine primary rainforest. Your native guide shares his wealth of knowledge, showing you the medicinal and practical uses of the rainforest’s flora and fauna that their ancestors have taught throughout generations. Then, you will return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go along the Cuyabeno River where you have a good chance of seeing the freshwater pink and grey river dolphins (Inia geoffrensis and Sotalia fluviatilis) in a spectacular scenery. Additionally, you will have the chance to try your luck at piranha fishing. After dinner, you will go out on a night excursion to search for caimans (alligator family) and nocturnal birds.

DAY 7 (B, L):
After your breakfast, you will go along the Cuyabeno River to the Kiwcha tribe. Here, your guide will explain you more about the customs of the tribe. Besides,  you will go by canoe along the Aguarico river to Puerto Gregorio. From there a bus will take you to Lago Agrio where you will arrive around 15.30 PM, where you will travel to Quito by semi-private bus or when there are flights available, you can fly to Quito ( extra $ 100 p.p.).

DAY 8 (B, L):
Today you will be picked up by an English speaking guide to go to Cotopaxi National Park. At the park you’ll have the choice to go mountain biking, hiking or horseback riding through the beautiful landscapes of the Cotopaxi volcano. There, you can enjoy the unique view and beautiful surrounding. In the afternoon, you will be brought to a local country house (Hacienda) where you’ll have the opportunity to see alpaca’s and rest a little.

DAY 9 (B, L):
In the morning, you will be picked up by an English speaking guide to go to the Quilotoa crater. There, you can hike along the crater and enjoy the amazing environment. After lunch, you will be brought to Baños.

DAY 10 (B):
The atmosphere in Baños is laid back and relaxed in this sub-tropical climate. Tourists love to come to Baños for outdoor activities like rafting, canyoning, horseback riding, canopy, mountain biking or hiking. You will go mountain biking through the most impressive waterfalls of Ecuador, Ruta de las Cascadas without a guide but with a good helmet, mountain bike, and route description. At night, the town is full of entertainment like pubs, restaurants and bars, all within walking distance. You’ll also have the option to do the canopy line El Torpedo ($ 20) or you can even bungee jump off a bridge ($ 15)!

DAY 11 (B):
Today you’ll have a day free to relax or discover Baños by yourselves. One of the must-see attraction of Ecuador is ‘Swing to the end of the world’. Here, you swing over the edge of a cliff.

DAY 12 (B, D):
After your breakfast, you will travel from Baños to Papallacta which will take around 5,5 hours. Here you can enjoy the thermal baths of Papallacta. These baths are very healthy due to the minerals in the water which are good for your skin, digestion, blood circulation and stress. In the evening, a romantic dinner will be arranged to end your wonderful honeymoon.

DAY 13 (B):
A private transfer will bring you to the Airport in Quito where you’ll catch your flight back home.

  • If you like to enjoy watching Animals please get some binoculars (10×40 are much better).
  • Please take with you some plastic bags, to protect your Camera and important documents passports and ID from the rain.
  • Inform yourself about food safety when traveling to tropical countries. Take the necessary precaution to avoid food poisoning (always wash your hands before eating, don’t eat ‘street food’, only eat peeled fruits, etc.).
